I’ve actually met divers who don’t keep a log. As hard as it is to believe, there are SCUBA divers who don’t keep logs. Now as a free-diver I knew to keep records on water conditions, which are incredibly important to someone not wearing a cylinder. So when I became open-water certified, I was already used to keeping my own records, so a dive log wasn’t foreign to me; the information I was placing on it was slightly different to me, but I’m still concerned with things like water temperature, currents, tide tables, etc. My dive log has evolved as I dive, and I want as much information as possible on it for future reference; for my future reference, and of course as proof of experience for any future training I seek. So, keep a dive log; you’ll wish you had if you don’t
